THis post is for my Kevin! I'm so grateful to have such an amazing, sweet, sensitive, hard working husband. WHo spoils me like crazy! HE is one of the best Fathers I know! Henry is so crazy about his Daddy! He knows that Daddy time is "Play" time. He is very lucky to have such a great Dad.

It just so happens that my birthday is very close to Fathers day weekend, so our families celebrate them at the same time. Sorry you have to share some of your Fathers Day with me honey. I have a bunch of pictures to download but cannot find my USB cord for the life of me, so pics are soon to come. In the mean time, here are some more of our Henry boy!

Hello hello.  Kevin here.  Since I don't mention much on this blog, I just have to say that, in my humble opinion, our little squirt is quite the handsome young man.  Fortunately, he got his good looks from his mom.  He did inherit his dad's skinny genes and thin hair (for now it's thin, but I'm willing to bet he has more hair than me right now. :) Katie said I should be nice to myself for that comment but I've embraced my baldness...I've embraced it.

So anyways, Katie asked me to apologize to all that take time to read our blog.  Apparently we aren't as good at it as most of our creative friends and family who actually take time to record the important things going on in their lives. But we are trying to do better.

We are now settled in our new apartment and if we have it our way we will never move again.  But, seven kids in a 3 bedroom apartment isn't realistic so maybe one day we'll find a nice little cottage in the canyon that we can move too and seclude ourselves from the world.  Katie says I'm embarassing her so I guess I'll give it up to her...no deleting, my dear.

Katie here. I'm going to write better than my sarcastic husband.  Wow. So sorry for the slacking.  We are doing very well. Henry is getting much more fun by the day.  Our love for Henry is indescribable, although he's lacking in the crawling skills and likes to itch his bum a lot. (Eczema, cortizone cream anyone?) (Ok, Katie's not really writing, she's talking and I'm writing it better)..now she's laughing too hard to say anything sensible. *ouch* you hit me

Here are some recent photos and more to come...

My sister Jess just recently gave me these pictures of New years Eve of 2007! It was fun to see them, and think about our first year of marriage all the experiences we have had in the year 2008. I think New Years is one of my favorite celebrations, mostly because my whole family has a feast of sushi! I LOVE sushi, it's growing on Kevin but it's definitely not his favorite meal in the world. He still let's me enjoy it!

This is one of the latest of Henry's toys! The Baby Einstein Jumper! As you can see he is having a marvelous time with all those new little gadgets  to explore. He's not quite tall enough to bounce, but he can stand which is one of his favorite things to do. I myself am very grateful for something to give me an extra twenty minutes to get some things done. Another thing I like about it, is that it plays good classical music, which doesn't get annoying. Yay for Baby Einstein!

This is Henry's new hair do these days. Kevin and I think it has a little rocker mohawk ( no idea how to spell that) look to it. However this look is only good after his bath.

My awesome sister Jess came to Provo to have a fun day with Henry and I. Jess is a third grade teacher and has a few weeks off track, so we took advantage of the time and and a great day. She came in just enough time to see Henry wake up from his nap and then we had an awesome photo shoot, with some adorable smiles. After that we went to Mom and Dad's to have some yummy homemade southwest chicken salads! Thanks for the awesome day Jess. We should make it a tradition for off track time.

I like this thumbs up picture!

OK. . . I think he is all done with the photo shoot.

Great job Jess! Thanks!

Paragraph.

This is the adorable little grin of Henry Pyne as he continues to be a wonderful baby. We are so grateful to have him with us. He really is happy most of the time lately, except when he is getting a diaper change. He has been having some skin problems lately that makes his skin really ichy, and he doesn't like it when I try and stop him. And I don't know about the rest of you with babies, but holiday schedules sure do mess up a baby's schedule. He's still having trouble getting back on a normal sleep schedule! so for the time being; I better start making the most of the night hours by catching up on some chick flicks. Who knows maybe Henry will learn to like them. Who doesn't love a boy who can enjoy a good chick flick?

This is one of Henry's many faces. I think it might be one of my favorites!

He loves to play with Daddy!

Yep. . . . this was our big adventure this summer. I was very pregnant all summer long until the very END! and I mean END. (Henry was born August 31st) As we all know; when a woman is pregnant her body changes. To name a few there is weight gain, back aches, leg cramps, heartburn, nausea, hot sweats, cold sweats, breakouts. I don't say these things to scare anyone who wants to have a baby, in fact my intention is quite the contrary. On a personal note; I have always been sensitive about my body. It has been a weakness of mine since as long as I can remember, even back to elementary school. Isn't it sad that children of such a young age feel the pressure to have their bodies look a certain way. The worldly magazines, TV, and media tell kids how they should look.  Naturally. . . what occurs during pregnancy is not what the world says is good looking. I dont' profess to be a know all on this sensitive subject, but what I have learned is that Heavenly Father has a plan for his children, and that plan is to bring these new spirits into the world. Having one of these new spirits in your home is worth everything!!!  Any pain or sacrifice you make is worth what you are blessed with in the end. I now have a new perspective on our bodies and that nobody is perfect, no one has the "perfect body" and we cannot base our worth on how we look, but by how we feel about ourselves and our relationship with God. Those vain things that use to be so important really aren't as important than the things that really matter. A baby sure helps you to see those things that really matter!!

Welcome to the Pyne family blog

So this is our official first post on our family blog. I am not the best writer in the world, but I hope to become a lot better, so I hope you will bear with me. Right now is a time a change in our lives as I adjust to staying at home with Henry, which I'm loving even more everyday. It's so much fun to see him change everyday, and see all of his little quirks and  smiles. He as absolutely adorable. We love being parents!!

Here is the most recent picture of Henry.
i can't believe how fast he grows! Now I can understand why people say to "Enjoy every moment". I know I definitely will!!!

I can't seem to catch that adorable smile on camera, but I know I will get it one of these days.
